What causes the northern lights?
Charged particles from the sun are funneled toward the poles by Earth's magnetic field, where they collide with oxygen and nitrogen high in the atmosphere and glow.
How it works
- Write it down. Any question or text, anywhere on the page.
- Underline it three times for a short answer. Messy lines are fine.
- Or circle it for a fuller answer with examples.
